Our Sustainability Committee is comprised of parents and educators and led by our Vice Principal, Jason Smartt. 

Our committee offers insights and suggestions surrounding school decision-making and initiatives. We strive to help our school operate in the most sustainable way and continuously improve our practices to ensure that we are being socially and environmentally responsible community members.

SCHOOLPOOL

This year we launched a community car/bike/walk pool to reduce emissions and build community. You can access the site here to sign up!

SCHOOL GARDEN 

Led by Lisa Davis, our school garden is thriving! From time to time we have community clean up days and also sign ups for assistance with watering. If you are interested in learning more and getting more involved, please contact Lisa Davis.

EARTH RANGERS + MIDDLE SCHOOL SUSTAINABILITY CLUB

Led by Heather Bird-Smartt, Alexis Donovan, Taunia Hottman, and Shellie Chambers, we work with students to connect their every day actions to our sustainability goals. 

DPS STUDENTS FOR CLIMATE ACTION

A team of DPS students led a successful campaign calling for district-wide sustainability goals. We connect with and learn from these students occasionally as mentors for our students. To learn more about their efforts, click here.
